There Shall Be Showers of Blessing
“I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing. I will send down the showers in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.” โ Ezekiel 34:26 (NKJV)
Introduction
Every believer longs to experience God’s blessings. In a world filled with uncertainty, challenges, and changing circumstances, God’s promises remain constant. One of His most comforting promises is found in Ezekiel 34:26, where He declares that He will send “showers of blessing.”
A shower is not a single drop of rainโit is an abundant outpouring. Likewise, God’s blessings are never intended to be scarce or occasional. He delights in pouring out His goodness upon His people in every area of life according to His perfect will and timing.
As Dominion International Center Los Angeles embraces this month’s prophetic theme, “There Shall Be Showers of Blessing,” we invite you to discover what God’s Word teaches about living under His abundant favor.
What Are the Showers of Blessing?
The phrase “showers of blessing” represents God’s abundant provision, divine favor, spiritual renewal, protection, peace, and every good gift that flows from His loving heart.
God’s blessings are not limited to financial prosperity. His greatest blessings include:
- A growing relationship with Him.
- His presence in our daily lives.
- Peace that surpasses understanding.
- Divine wisdom for life’s decisions.
- Strength during difficult seasons.
- Healing and restoration.
- Joy that circumstances cannot remove.
- Eternal life through Jesus Christ.
James 1:17 reminds us:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.”
God’s Blessings Come in Their Season
Notice that Ezekiel 34:26 says:
“I will send down the showers in their season.”
This teaches us an important lesson: God works according to His divine timetable.
Sometimes we pray and expect immediate answers, but God sees the bigger picture. He knows the right season for every blessing. Delayed blessings are not necessarily denied blessings. Often, God is preparing both the blessing and the person who will receive it.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares:
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Trust God’s timing. His calendar is always perfect.
Position Yourself for God’s Blessing
Although God’s grace is freely given, Scripture also teaches that believers should live in a way that welcomes His blessings.
1. Walk in Obedience
Deuteronomy 28 reminds us that obedience opens the door to God’s favor.
When we choose God’s ways over our own, we position ourselves to experience His promises.
2. Live by Faith
Faith pleases God.
Hebrews 11:6 says:
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
Faith allows us to trust God even before we see the answer.
3. Remain Connected to Christ
Jesus said in John 15:5:
“He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.”
The closer we walk with Christ, the more our lives reflect His goodness.
4. Maintain a Heart of Gratitude
Grateful people recognize God’s blessings every day.
Thanksgiving keeps our hearts focused on God’s faithfulness rather than our temporary challenges.
Showers of Blessing Are More Than Material Prosperity
Many people measure blessing only by possessions or wealth.
However, the Bible paints a much richer picture.
Sometimes God’s greatest blessing is:
- Peace during a storm.
- Strength when you feel weak.
- Wisdom in difficult decisions.
- Restoration in broken relationships.
- Hope when everything seems impossible.
These blessings often become the foundation upon which every other blessing is built.
God’s Greatest Blessing Is Jesus Christ
Every blessing ultimately points us to Jesus.
Through His death and resurrection, we receive:
- Forgiveness of sins.
- Salvation.
- The gift of the Holy Spirit.
- Adoption into God’s family.
- The promise of eternal life.
No earthly blessing compares with knowing Christ personally.
A Prayer for This Month
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your unfailing love and Your wonderful promises. We receive Your Word with faith and believe that You are able to send showers of blessing upon every area of our lives according to Your perfect will.
Prepare our hearts to receive what You have planned for us. Help us to walk in obedience, faith, humility, and gratitude. Let our homes, families, ministries, businesses, and communities experience the abundance of Your goodness.
May this season become a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may our lives bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Conclusion
God’s promise of showers of blessing is not merely about receiving moreโit is about living each day under His loving care, guidance, and favor.
No matter where you are today, remember that God knows your season. Continue trusting Him, walking faithfully, and expecting His goodness.
As we journey through this month’s theme together, may you experience His abundant grace, renewed hope, and overflowing joy.
“There shall be showers of blessing.”
